Job Description:
Technical Duties:
Planning and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
Defining the programme's governance arrangements
Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the programme - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the programme, and outwardly on its coherence with infrastructure planning, interfaces with other programmes and corporate, technical, and specialist standards
Facilitating the appointment of individuals to project teams
Ensuring the delivery of new products or services from projects is to the appropriate level of quality, on time and within budget, in accordance with the programme plan and programme governance arrangements
Ensuring there is allocation of common resources and skills within the programme's individual projects
Working with the finance and operation departments for the preparation of budget or equivalent on the transition to the new projects.
Initiating extra activities and other management interventions wherever gaps in the programme are identified or issues aris
Managerial Tasks:
Daily program management throughout the program life cycle;
Managing third party contributions to the programme
Managing communication with all stakeholders
Managing the programme's budget on behalf of the WYFAO, monitoring expenditure and costs against delivered and realized benefits as the programme progresses
Managing both the dependencies and the interfaces between projects
Managing risks to the programme's successful outcome
Managing the program’s budget;
Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements;
Managing and utilizing resources across projects;
Managing stakeholders’ communication;
Managing the main program documentations such as the program initiation document.
Any other related task that assigned by the director
Coordination:
Formulate, organize and monitor inter-connected projects
Decide on suitable strategies and objectives
Coordinate cross-project activities
Assume responsibility for the program’s people and vendors
Prepare reports for program General Director
Coordinating the projects and their interdependencies
Job Requirements:
Working Experience and skills
Five years of Proven experience as a Program Manager or other managerial position with NGOs, UN, UN funded Projects, or similar
Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation and change management principles
Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of program/project management software (Basecamp, MS Project, etc.) is a strong advantage
Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Excellent problem-solving ability
Education
Master’s degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Business administration, or equivalent
Language Requirements:
Fluency in Pashto and Dari; Strong working knowledge of English is highly required
