Child Protection

Child abuse is an international issue. It happens everywhere, in all communities. The abuse of children and teenagers includes their physical, sexual, and emotional neglect. Children and teenagers may be exposed to exploitation, abuse, violence, and neglect under diverse conditions by a range of persons, including conference attendees, support staff, and ancillary employees. This can happen in families, communities, institutions, organizations, and public places,

According to the UN Convention on the Rights of Children, everyone under the age of 18 is considered a child (1989). Child protection is a general phrase used to cover ideologies, norms, policies, and practices designed to shield children from malicious and unintended harm. In the present situation, it relates to WYFAO's obligation to ensure that its personnel, operations, and programs do not endanger or put children at risk of damage or abuse, and that any concerns the organization may have regarding the security of children within the activities and programs in which they participate are informed to the relevant authorities.

Every kid has the right to be free from all types of abuse, exploitation, and violence. Therefore, it is the obligation of WYFAO to guarantee the safety of children in all of its projects, activities, and policies. This implies that employees do not pose a risk to children and that program, policies, and practices can be created in a way that supports the safety of children.
