The "Supporting Afghan Girls and Boys to Access Safe Schools" initiative is a comprehensive project aimed at contributing to the educational development of the Paktika Province in Afghanistan. The project focuses on constructing six schools (Zaiuluam, Bacho Khail, Ghulam Muhiudin Sulimankhil, Hamza, Naw Bahar primary schools and Jarkana secondary school) across six districts, creating a conducive learning environment for children in the region. The initiative addresses the critical need for safe and accessible educational facilities, especially for young girls and boys who have faced challenges in accessing quality education.

The project aims to consolidate and expand community based education (CBE) and accelerated learning classes (ALC) for 7,210 emergency-affected children (5740 girls and 1470 boys) in three districts of Logar province. The project will also engage 14,420 parents and caretakers, as well as 1190 members of school management shuras (SMS), to raise awareness on the importance of education and address negative socio-cultural practices that hinder girls’ education. The project will ensure that the classes are functional and meet minimum standards of quality and safety, and that the programme is managed effectively and efficiently. The expected outcomes are increased access to education and improved quality of learning for the target beneficiaries.

Winterization Distribution in Kabul: WYFAO with the financial support of
Medication, Education and Peace Organization (MEPO) has distributed Food, Cash,
and Winter Clothing among the Internal Displaced (IDPs) of Helmand Province in to
Kabul in the Charahi Qambar area of Kabul. WYFAO has Distributed the mentioned
items equals to 43,000 USD (equals 2,500,000 AFN). 1,200,000 AFN was distrubuted
among 400 families,j 200 Food Packages were distributed among 200 poor families
and Winter cloting equals to 500,000 AFN were distrubuted among 200 poor
families in different locations of Kabu

The project ensures that the classes are functional, quality, and inclusive, and that the community decision-makers are aware of the benefits of education for all. The project aims to increase access to education and improve quality of learning for the target beneficiaries.

In a contract with Afghan Swiss Medical University, WYFAO organized a training for their students regarding first aids and preventation practices of COVID-19 and public awareness procedures.
WYFAO completed the training successfully and around 3786 students get trained. This training accomplished with the technical and financial assistance of WYFAO with the coordination of Ministry of Public Health.
