Job Description:
Job Summary: The procurement officer's major responsibility is to supervise all procurement activities, from finding suppliers to negotiating contracts, to make sure the company gets the greatest deal on products and services while upholding strict quality standards and legal compliance.
Roles & Responsibilities
Procurement Planning:
Work together with department leaders to determine your annual procurement plan's needs assessment.
Make sure that the organization's strategic goals are in line with the procurement operations.
Suppliers Selection and Management:
Make a list of potential suppliers and evaluate them.
Strike beneficial deals on terms and conditions with suppliers.
Continually assess the performance of your suppliers by maintaining a database of them.
Procurement Process:
Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including the preparation of procurement documents, tendering, and evaluation of bids.
Ensure compliance with the organization's procurement policies and relevant regulations
Cost Control:
Monitor procurement budgets and expenditures.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing strategies.
Contract Management :
Drafting, reviewing, and managing agreements and contracts for procurement.
Make that contracts are carried out in accordance with established terms and conditions.
Quality Assurance:
Define specifications and quality standards for products and services in conjunction with end users.
When necessary, carry out inspections and quality checks.
Reporting and Documentations:
Keep up-to-date documentation and records for purchases.
Create procurement reports as needed for management and funders.
Legal and ethical compliance
Make sure ethical procurement procedures are followed, including anti-corruption and anti-bribery laws.
Keep up with pertinent procurement laws and regulations.
Capacity Building:
Provide guidance and training to staff on procurement policies and procedures.
Complete all procurement-related responsibilities in accordance with the head of department's instructions.
Job Requirements:
Experience/ Education.
A bachelor's degree in business administration, procurement, supply chain management, or a similar profession.
Proven procurement officer experience, particularly in a field or organization that is similar to it.

Language Requirements:
Proficiency in written and spoken English, Dari and Pashto.
