WYFAO (Women & Youth Future Assist Organization) is a non-profiting, non-governmental and non-political organization that is mainly involved in humanitarian and developmental activities and serves people in deprivation. WYFAO was founded back in 2016 by a group of young Afghan professionals with a high spirit of helping and shaping lives in Afghanistan. WYFAO was established to play a prominent role in addressing the actual needs of needy people and enable all Afghans to converse for their rights and have an enabling environment for their development and prosperity.

Midwife Responsibilities:

• Delivering counseling and quality Sexual and Reproductive Health services including family planning, HIV/AIDS, STI, post-abortion counseling, cervical and breast cancer counseling etc.
• Providing appropriate instruction and advanced care to women during pregnancy, labor and the postpartum period.
• Assisting home based deliveries on her own in the House and taking care of the mother and newborn babies, and in case of complication referring them to health facilities.
• As per the principles of basic emergency obstetric care, manage complications in pregnancy and childbirth.
• Consulting and educating women, family and community in areas pertaining to Health including mother and newborn health.
• Offering postpartum family planning counseling and services.
• Referring postpartum complicated cases in case of need.
• Conducting screening of the pregnant women for dangerous signs of pregnancy.
• Delivering comprehensive counseling for all FP methods, distribution of short-term family planning methods and IEC and BCC materials.
• Delivering short-term family planning methods to the clients.
• Developing an effective referral system for long-run family planning methods.
• Conducting the PNC visit in 48 hours after delivery and providing them the necessary Family planning and treatment.
• Providing information and education on Self-care.
• Facilitating enabling environment for a comprehensive referral pathway in the event of any complication in delivery.
• Rising awareness among the women during their visits and social assemblies to increase demand for services.
• Providing instant newborn care focusing on airway, warmth and breastfeeding.
• Delivering emergency measures for newborn resuscitation.
• Providing daily newborn care, including physical examination, taking care of the umbilical cord, immunization, etc.
• Performing administrative tasks such as patient caring, recording and reporting of data and coordination of specific educational or outreach programs.
• Ensure proper Data recording and reporting system and data to the relevant department.
• Preparing & submitting monthly reports.
• Check vaccinations of patients and refer to vaccination section when required.
• Encouraging mothers to receive Iron Folic Acid (IFA) during lactation and pregnancy.
• Focus group discussion between group of mothers of well-nourished children and malnourished children
• Reporting, treating the malnutrition children.
• Reporting and reaching outbreaks in assign area.
• Reporting all the vital sign of all the patients.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor/Diploma of midwifery
• At least have 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Fluency of local language and Basic knowledge of English language.
• Good communication skills and ability to interact successfully with staff and clients.
• Able to deliver services in targeted areas of Mobile clinic
