Job Description:
Job Summary: The MEAL Manager is vital to the success, efficiency, and accountability of WYFA's activities. This position includes creating and implementing effective MEAL systems, gathering and evaluating data, and fostering an organizational culture of learning and accountability.
Roles & Responsibilities
MEAL System Development:
Create and put into action a complete MEAL framework that includes tools, indicators, and data collection techniques.
Make that MEAL systems are in line with program goals and donor criteria.
Monitoring:
Oversee the timely and accurate data collection for program operations and results.
To track program implementation and collect beneficiary feedback, conduct routine field visits.
Evaluation:
Plan and oversee survey management, impact assessments, and program evaluations.
Analyze data to determine areas for improvement and to gauge the success and impact of programs.
Accountability:
Create and implement systems for addressing complaints and beneficiary feedback.
Make sure that program decision-making incorporates beneficiary feedback.
Adaptation and Learning
Encourage program personnel to participate in regular reviews and learning sessions to share findings and lessons gained.
Encourage an environment of flexible management and ongoing development.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit high-quality MEAL reports to donors, stakeholders, and senior management.
Ensure that MEAL findings and recommendations are effectively communicated and acted upon.
Capacity Development
Provide program personnel and partners with MEAL methodology and tools training and assistance for capacity building.
Encourage program teams to adopt a MEAL ownership culture.
Management of Data
Oversee the management of databases and information systems for data storage and retrieval.
Ensure data security and confidentiality.
Job Requirements:
Experience/ Education.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics).
Proven experience in MEAL roles, with a minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of MEAL principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Proficiency in data collection and analysis tools and software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage MEAL teams.
Knowledge of donor requirements and reporting standards.
Commitment to humanitarian and development principles and ethics.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in written and spoken English, Dari and Pashto.
