The Environmental Engineer will coordinate with the project teams in the planning and implementation of all project activities that have an environmental impact assessment, engineering, or construction requirements. The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for undertaking environmental impact assessments for program activities, reviewing project construction designs, and developing specifications. S/he may travel to project sites across the province to undertake environmental impact assessments, environmental monitoring and reporting.
Conduct thorough assessments to identify potential environmental impacts associated with proposed projects, and provide recommendations for mitigation.
Stay abreast of environmental laws and regulations, ensuring that all projects comply with relevant standards. Obtain necessary permits and approvals as required.
Develop and implement effective waste management plans to minimize environmental impact. Recommend and oversee the implementation of waste reduction and recycling programs.
Develop and implement plans for the remediation of contaminated sites, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and guidelines.
Conduct environmental audits to evaluate compliance with environmental policies and regulations. Develop and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
Work closely with internal teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to address environmental concerns and ensure alignment with project goals.
Prepare detailed reports documenting environmental assessments, compliance status, and recommendations. Present findings to stakeholders, both internal and external.
Make recommendations to maintain and improve environmental performance
Collect, analyze and manage environmental data gathered in the field.
Perform risk and quality control assessments to determine environmental impact levels.
Identify areas of negative human impact on the environment and negative environmental impacts on communities and society.
Ensure compliance with local government and industry regulations.
Review environmental regulations, and determine whether they're being applied properly
Implementation of Site Environmental Management Plan (SEMP) and Health and Safety Plan (HSP).
Making recommendations on clean-up, reclamation and waste management activities
Assessing how a site complies with environmental regulations

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or a related field.
Five Years Experience (3 years in similar work)
Proven experience in environmental engineering, with a focus on project management.
Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
Proficiency in environmental modeling and assessment tools.
Excellent communication and coordination skills especially with the government sectors, and communities.
In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to make sound decisions under pressure.
Language Requirements:
Proficiency in written and spoken English, Dari and Pashto.
